I enjoyed this Slate article; British people who speak in Americanisms annoy me So. Much. I didn’t realise it was a two-way street! And had no idea words/phrases like ‘advert’, ‘bespoke’, ‘cookery’, ‘in future’, ‘chat show’, ‘one-off’, ‘presenter’, ‘queue’, ‘straight away’ and ‘whilst’ were not already in common usage in the states. Educational!

The only words that I’ve never used are cookery, in future & chat show.
