2. I Don’t Care About Your Band - Julie Klausner
I’ve mentioned Julie Klausner before and was pleased to get her dating memoir for christmas. I don’t always agree with her opinions but I mostly really enjoyed this book and found it very helpful; I even underlined passages with a propelling pencil, something I’d not done since uni! Though she obviously likes herself and has high self-respect, I loved how brutally honest Klausner is, even about things which don’t portray her in the best light (such as going back for seconds with horrible boys she barely likes). It’s very comforting to think that the crappy dates and painful heartbreaks we all go through will eventually end up as hilarious anecdotes and cautionary tales.
In the spirit of Julie’s blog, here is my kitten expressing his disapproval at her book (whatever Stan)
ETA: today my teenage sister told me she’d like to go out with boys who play bass guitar and have straightened hair and really skinny legs. UH OH. I can see I’ll have to pass this book on in ten years time.
